Advocacy
- The Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living always celebrates the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The July 26, 2007, event had particular significance for EOCIL as consumers, families and friends marched for, then cut the ribbon for, Ontario's first curb cut: ADA 2007.
- EOCIL was well represented at the July 2007 National Council on Independent Living annual conference and met with Oregon Sen. Gordon Smith and Rep. Greg Walden: July 2007: Making Our Voices Heard
- In July 2005, EOCIL Executive Director Kirt Toombs presented Oregon Sen. Gordon Smith a Justice for All award on behalf of the American Association of People with Disabilities in recognition of the senator's support of disability rights: Justice for All Award
- EOCIL representatives joined other Oregon independent living activists at the annual National Council on Independent Living conference in July 2005: NCIL 2005
- In early 2005, EOCIL sent a large delegation to Salem to test accessible voting equipment: HAVA Fair
